Ryan Anderson Injury Update

The Rockets starting power forward suffered a back injury Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Fortunately he suffered these pains when they did not have any games listed for another 3 days so he had plenty of time to get his body right. Jonathan Feign a reporter from the Houston Chronicles says ” The Rockets haven’t played yet this week, so Anderson has had plenty of time to get his body right. If you need 3-pointers, Anderson should be in your lineup.” As many know the Houston Rockets average the most 3 point attempts by a team in the leauge. Last year they averaged 14.40 attempts per game from beyond the arch.

Dwight Howard Hits a Three

Although Dwight Howard is no longer on the team this still was pretty crazy. Dwight is not a 3 point shooter whatsoever so the bench got pretty hype when he hit that corner jump shot. He has a 8.8% 3pt percentage for his career. The Rockets acquired Howard during the 2013 off-season (Dwight signing during free agency).

James Harden Defense

We know James Harden to be one of the best offensive players in the league but as you can see he is not the best defender. To be fair this was last season and Harden has somewhat improved his defense. A popular argument Rockets fan use to defend James Harden is that Harden does so much offensively and he plays a lot of minutes.

Chinanu Onuaku Free-throw

Onuaku is one of the only people in the world (to the NBAs knowledge) that still shoots underhand free-throws, he is the only active player who does this. Rick Barry’s son in Florida also shoots free-throws like this, it is not common for basketball players to do this.

Rockets vs Lakers

James Harden and Chris Paul faced off against one of the most talked about rookies in the league yesterday, Lonzo Ball. James Harden scored 36 points with 9 assists, while Chris Paul had 21 points with 6 assists. Unfortunately the overhyped rookie was only able to accumulate 2 points with 3 assists. The Rockets currently have the second longest win streak in the league with 7 wins ( Cavs have the longest with 11 straight wins).
